FedDev Ontario Supports Innovative Recycling Facility in Vaughan

$3 million to establish new facility with first-in-Canada recycling technology and create 30 new jobs
Today, Francesco Sorbara, Member of Parliament for Vaughan–Woodbridge, announced a FedDev Ontario contribution of up to $3 million to Enviroplast Inc., an innovative manufacturer that specializes in recycling plastic. Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, the company is expanding its operations to Ontario by establishing a recycling facility using first-in-Canada technology in Vaughan. This announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario.
In support of Enviroplast Inc.’s expansion activities, FedDev Ontario’s contribution will enable the company to adopt an environmentally friendly recycling technology that produces no waste or gas emission, and minimizes water usage in production. As a result, the company will expand and broaden its capacity to recycle different types of plastics for sale in North American and international markets. The project will also create 30 new jobs in Vaughan.
This project supports the Government of Canada’s Innovation and Skills Plan, and the priorities of the government’s Economic Strategy Table on Clean Technology, by supporting innovative clean technologies and driving sustainable growth outcomes in southern Ontario. The company’s new facility in Vaughan represents the advancement of sustainable technology that will benefit the environment and the regional economy.

Mr. Stéphane Bégin, President of Aliston Group Inc. – a private investment firm – is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Mathieu Séguin as Chief Executive Officer of Enviroplast Inc., a company specializing in plastic recycling.
Since 2014, Mathieu Séguin has held the position of Senior Director and Sales Manager at Toronto Dominion Bank (TD) - Commercial Services, Montreal. In this role, he oversaw business development activities and business strategy for the medium and large business sector, managing a portfolio of a quarter of a billion in assets.
Mathieu has worked in strategic roles while at TD, primarily in corporate finance, business development and risk management. He has also led several mergers and acquisitions in the field of plastics, which has allowed him to develop knowledge in the industry and as well as build strong links with various stakeholders. The expertise acquired by Mathieu over time will undeniably be a major asset for both Enviroplast and its parent company Aliston.
Mr. Séguin studied law at the Université de Montréal before working at Kaufman Laramée S.E.N.C, where he was involved in various banking and insolvency matters. He also holds CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CSI (Canadian Security Institute) titles.
